Michelle Francis

MICHELLE FRANCIS


Michelle has been with Joan Malone for over 10 years.  She teaches Ballet, Tap and Jazz to students of all ages.  While Ms. Joan has been her primary teacher and mentor, she has studied with several other local instructors, including Sandra Black, Gloria Dean, Doris Marsh, Jamie Wallace, Tammy Kohlschmidt, and Pam Broyles.

She has also had the opportunity to study with several Master Teachers and Choreographers such as Greg Begley, Cameron English, Brian Thomas, and Natalya Getman.

Michelle believes in providing the best possible dance education to all of her students.  She continues to further her own training by taking classes regularly and is in the process of obtaining a nationally accredited Dance Teacher Certification.


Kelsey Kruse

KELSEY KRUSE

Kelsey has been dancing since the age of two at the Joan Malone Dance center. Throughout her career she has studied many types of dance from well-known choreographers throughout the United states, some of which are Greg Begley of Chicago Ballet, Moscow Ballet Co., Natalia Kkolossaava, Tammy Kohlschmidt, and Jazz New York.

Her favorites include ballet and lyrical.  Kelsey is a past member of the Joan Malone Dance competition Co., and the experience she's gained from the dance company has helped her grow as a dancer as well as a person.

Kelsey has been chosen to dance in many different performances and received many awards and titles for her solos.  She has competed in pageants and was crowned "Teen Miss Saginaw County".

She has performed in Saginaw Diabetes benefit and "The Great Russian Nutcracker.  Kelsey is currently attending Central Michigan University to further her educational goals . She teaches Master classes when her time permits from college.


Lindsay King

LINDSAY KING

 

Lindsay has been dancing for 12 years.  Throughout her dance career she has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop. She's studied under local teachers Joan Malone, Cheri Dupuis, Jamie Wallace, Tammy Kohlschmidt, Erin Beller, Pam Broyles, and attended master classes with Levi Claiborne and Sarah Savelli.

She has been a member of a competition dance team for 9 years and received many awards for group and solo performances. She's also participated as a dancer for many Saginaw Diabetes Benefits, Autism Benefits and danced with the Moscow Ballet Company.

Lindsay is currently attending Nouvel Catholic Central High School


Devin Ranger

DEVIN RANGER

Devin Ranger is a 19 year old student at Saginaw Valley State University, and loves to dance. She trained at her mother's studio, Studio 93, in Hadley for 16 years. She was a captain on her high school dance team for 2 years and is currently the secretary of the Saginaw Valley State University Dance Team.

She's trained in tap, jazz, lyrical, modern and hip hop. She taught jazz for 3 years at Studio 93 and absolutely loves to teach!


Karyn Bate-Defoe

KARYN BATE-DEFOE

Karyn Bate-Defoe is 18 years-old and attending her freshman year at Delta College. She plans to transfer to Central Michigan University, majoring in Psychology.

She trained for 7 years at the Restored to Glory Dance Ministry, and has had 3 years of dancing in musicals.

Karyn taught for 2 years at the Saginaw Valley Christian Church, choreographing for musicals. She trained at the Gym Jesters Gymnastics Center on and off since she was 8 years old, teaching there for 2 years.

She graduated from Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy in 2008, and currently teaches Tumbling classes.


Kailin Glazier

KAILIN GLAZIER


Kailin Glazier first started dancing at the age of two at the Joan Malone Dance Center. She has studied under world renowned dancers and choreographers including J.T. Jenkins, Levi Claiborne Jr., Sarah Savelli, Debrah Draper, Jodi Kurtze, Heather Trommer-Beardslee, Greg Begley, George Hurley, Cameron English, Natalia Getman, Joan Malone, Tammy Kohlschmidt, and Pam Broyles.

Kailin has performed with the Moscow Ballet Co., as well as, the USA Ballet Co. She has danced competitively for many years winning many awards for performances and choreography.

In 2005, Kailin was given a $1,000 scholarship to compete for the U.S. at the World Championship of Performing Arts. She also teaches at the Vision Studio of Performing Arts where she is the Co-Director of the Vision Studio Dance Company. In her spare time she enjoys hunting and fishing with her husband.


Pam Kalinowski

PAM KALINOWSKI


Pam has been dancing since the age of nine.  Her training began with Joan and has continued throughout the years.  She has been an assistant teacher/teacher with Joan for many years.  To further her dance education she has also taken classes from  Doris Marsh, Nelson Curtis, Sandra Ochodnicky, Doug Caldwell, Barry Weiss, Serge Rodnunsky,and Steven Wistrich. 

Pam participated in summer camps including Blue Lakes Fine Arts Camp and a six week program with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School in Winnipeg, Canada.  She has participated in many performances.  Nine years of "Christmas at the Heritage", Music Awards shows in Bay City, a musical with Pit and Balcony and of course the many end of the dance season shows. 

Throughout the years she has studied many forms of dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern, and hip hop.  Ballet has always had a special place in her heart.

Mary Samaniego

MARY SAMANIEGO

Mary has been dancing since the age of  4. Throughout her career she has studied many types of dance such as jazz, modern, tap, acrobatics, baton, ballroom dancing, salsa, zumba, ballet, and yoga .

Her favorites are Ballroom Dance and Zumba.  She has danced in showcases, and has also competed in ballroom dance, placing 2nd in rumba, cha-cha, tango, waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, jive, samba and paso doble.

She has also taught Zumba at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

She has also had the opportunity to study with Ms. Bohaty, Ann Stevens, Miss Lore, Perry Woodard, Rick and Vicki Popp and Steve Reynolds.

Mary continues to further her own training by taking classes and performs regularly. It is her philosophy that even though you are a teacher, the training doesn't just stop there. She is certified in Zumba basics and Zumba Gold.  She currently teaches Ballroom Dance and Zumba at Studio 110 in Clio, and now here at J. Malone Dance Studios.
